Press release:
The Celebration of the Motorcar exhibition has been Perth’s premier classic, prestige and supercar event for over 30 years, showcasing a tremendous array of specialist cars. It’s on again on Sunday, December 14 at JH Abrahams Reserve in Crawley, behind the University of WA on the riverfront.
Supporting charity Wheels for Hope, some 120 cars will be on display. Included are three unique to WA Aston Martins – a Valour, a Valiant and a DBS V8 GT, the last of which is the only one in Australia. A magnificent 1934 Cadillac V16 Aerodynamic Coupe, one of just five in the world, recently completed a lengthy restoration will be making its debut.
The fourth RHD Jaguar XK120 built, delivered new in Perth in 1949 which set the WA speed record will be shown. With its current owner for 64 years, this striking car has polished aluminium bodywork.
A Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost celebrating its 100th birthday through to a rare Australian-made Giocattolo supercar and a genuine Porsche 356 Speedster, unique in WA, illustrate the variety visitors will enjoy. Always a favourite at this event since first run in 1993, a Ferrari F40 will be displayed.
Event Director Paul Blank said “It’s an privilege to gather such an amazing collection of cars of all ages – Perth’s crème de la crème – together for this event which supports a worthy charity that provides specially adapted vehicles for families with special needs children.”

The upmarket atmosphere is enhanced by live performances of classical music. The new venue is beautiful with the river and gardens framing the cars perfectly. A charity fund raising event, Celebration of the Motorcar provides support for Wheels for Hope.
Creator and Event Director Paul Blank from Automotive Events Management has run motoring events around Australia and in Europe for over three decades and first ran the Celebration of the Motorcar in Perth in 1993. “A special, luxurious show, in beautiful surroundings with attention to detail highlights the wonderful array of cars… The most beautiful cars, classical music, great food and a picturesque venue… what a treat. Every year incredible cars come out of the woodwork for this event and amaze visitors.”

Celebration of the Motorcar is proudly the longest-running event of its kind in Australia.
